Products Listed by Amazon Marketplace Sellers

Top sellers have on average more products listed than those who are not as big. As shown in the table below top 100 sellers in each marketplace have much more products listed than those in top 1,000, and top 10,000. This is because many of the top sellers are resellers doing retail arbitrage, with access to thousands of different brands.

Those who use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) have on average much less products listed than those who don't use FBA (referred in the table below as Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM)). This is because listing products when not using FBA can be done cheaply, while FBA requires physically sending those items to Amazon. For example many of the books sellers have hundreds of thousands of products listed, and almost none of them are using FBA because of costs associated with listing so many products.
